Avalon & Talbot Spy - Candidate Town Hall at the Theater
Michele is pleased to announce she will be participating at the Town Hall at the Avalon Theater in downtown Easton, on Sunday, October 9th. The event will also be simulcast on Midshore Community Television (MCTV) — which is a bit of a homecoming for her, as she used to volunteer at MCTV in high school!

CBF & League of Women Voters: Candidate Forum
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and League of Women Voters of the Mid-Shore (LWVMS) in partnership with the Talbot Spy will sponsor an environmental forum for candidates running in the 2022 Talbot County Council election. The forum will take place on Wednesday, September 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Conservation Center, 114 N. Washington Street in Easton.
The event will focus on the environmental health of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, including climate adaptation and resilience; Chesapeake Bay restoration; and land use management and growth.
Howard Freedlander of the Talbot Spy will moderate. Questions will be asked by the moderator, who will also take questions from the audience via notecards.
This event is free and open to the public. Voters in Talbot County are encouraged to attend and learn more about the County Council candidates and their positions on local environmental issues.
The following candidates, who are competing for five available seats on the County Council, have been invited: Chuck F. Callahan, III; Michele W. Dappert; Keasha N. Haythe; Phil Jackson; Scott Kane; Pete Lesher; Lynn Leonhardt Mielke; David Montgomery; Dave Stepp; Wade Strickland.

Easton Farmers Markets
Over twenty-five vendors will feature a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, flowers, dog treats, seafood (including oysters) kombucha, nursery plants and craft items at the Easton Farmer’s Market this Saturday — and Michele is also stopping by to say hello (and probably buy a peach or two). Please join us!
The Avalon Foundation sponsors the successful Farmers’ Market. “The Easton Farmers Market is a long-standing tradition spanning over 35 years, we are proud to support this endeavor that serves the community and connects customers with local farmers and other producers,” said market manager Marie Nuthall.

The Friends of the Talbot County Free Library presents Laughs for the Library on Friday, August 19 at 6 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Conservation Center Courtyard, located at 114 South Washington Street, in Easton. Cost is $25 per person and will include appetizers, beverages, live music, and an improv comedy show starring local Easton improvisers trained by Reflex Improv. All proceeds benefit the Talbot County Free Library. Reserve a tickets at www.tcfl.org.

The DELMARVA Pride Center will host an LGBTQ+ Pride Festival June 17-19, 2022 in downtown Easton.
Saturday Festival on North Harrison Street:
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is family-friendly (rain or shine)

Douglass Tubman 2022
Meet with Michele Dappert at the Talbot County Democratic Party’s annual Douglass Tubman Celebration, which has been reimagined from a traditional fundraising dinner to a FREE political fair for candidates and area voters! Join us Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 3 - 6 pm at Moton Park in Easton, Maryland.
Local, state, and federal campaign, along with a substantial number of community organizations, have been invited to set up tents/booths and the event will also feature food, drinks, and live music!

A Politics-Free celebration downtown in Oxford. After two years with non Oxford Day, we are holding a smaller, simpler event primarily focused on our Oxford resident families and businesses.
Plastic-Free Easton: Stream Cleanups
Our Stream Cleanups in Easton are coming right up! We need volunteers! Bring yourself and bring a friend Saturday, April 16, 2022. The cleanups are in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's annual Project Clean Stream, and locally with Shore Rivers.
The two sites are:
1) The stream that runs along the Weis Parking Lot on Marlboro Avenue in Easton, and
2) The Bay Street Ponds and adjacent stream on Bay Street in Easton.
Cleanup time is from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at both sites.
The rain date is the following Saturday, April 23.
